Mixsoon Bean Essence vs Bean Cream: Do You Need Both?

2 min read

Mixsoon Bean Essence is an optional hydration step; Bean Cream is a moisturizer. If you need a cream to finish your routine, start by considering Bean Cream. If your moisturizer already works and you want an extra layer beneath it, consider Bean Essence. You do not need to buy both just because they share a name.

Bean Essence vs Bean Cream at a glance

Question Bean Essence Bean Cream
What is it? A liquid essence A facial moisturizing cream
Where does it fit? Before moisturizer At the moisturizer step
Size compared here 50 ml bottle 50 ml moisturizer
Main shopping question Do I want another hydration layer? Do I need a moisturizer?

What is different about the formulas?

The brand’s Bean Essence ingredient list includes glycerin and ferments derived from soybean, pomegranate, barley and pear. Its directions offer both a gently patted hydration application and a separate massage method.

The Bean Cream ingredient list has a different base, including caprylic/capric triglyceride and meadowfoam seed oil, alongside fermented extracts. It also lists bergamot fruit oil. The brand’s “no artificial fragrance” wording should therefore not be read as a guarantee that the cream contains no aromatic plant ingredients. Check your pack if you avoid particular oils.

Shared ferments do not make the two formulas interchangeable. Nor does an ingredient list tell us which will feel better on your skin. This comparison is based on published product information, without a Mirai Skin side-by-side wear test.

Which one should you buy first?

  • Your routine has no moisturizer: evaluate the Cream first. An extra essence is a lower priority than finding a moisturizer you enjoy using.
  • You already like your moisturizer: keep it. The Essence is the relevant option if you specifically want an additional step; changing both products at once makes it harder to judge what helped.
  • You want fewer steps: there is no requirement to use the full Bean range. Buying a matching pair is a preference, not a complete-routine rule.
  • You are comparing costs: compare the price of the one missing step, not only the price of a set. An unused second product is not a saving.

Can you use Bean Essence and Bean Cream together?

Yes. For a straightforward hydration routine, follow the Essence’s pat-in directions, then apply Cream. A toner can go before the Essence if you already use one. Keep sunscreen as the final skincare step in the morning, following its own directions.

Introduce one new product at a time. You can also pair the Essence with a moisturizer from another brand; there is no need to replace a comfortable cream simply to match labels.

Common questions

Is Bean Cream just a thicker Bean Essence?

No. These are separately formulated products with different routine roles. Decide whether you need an essence or a cream before comparing the shared Bean branding.

Do I have to massage the Essence every time?

No. Mixsoon gives a pat-in hydration option. Follow the method and directions on your own bottle; the comparison here does not require an exfoliating massage step.

Which one is best for sensitive skin?

We cannot name a universal winner. Check each ingredient list against ingredients you already know you do not tolerate. Stop using a product if irritation develops.
